Jemima – Maryville was an educational and memorable experience. We learnt about the history of many of the elderly people there and we got to make relationships with our new friends. At the start my feelings consisted of nervousness and excitement. As soon as I got there I got to know the woman and men but a lady who stood out to me was named Kath.
Lila – Maryville was a great experience. We got to talk to many elderly people and share things about ourselves. It was a great opportunity to put myself out there and communicate with the elderly people. I met a lovely lady called Mary and she was telling me lots of stories about her life and what she liked to do at school. Everybody was so kind and it was a great experience as a welcoming leader.
Emelia– Maryville was a great opportunity for me to open my ability to put myself out there and have new learning opportunities as a welcoming leader. When I went for the very first time I met a lovely lady, her name was Irene. She was telling me all these stories about how she and her husband met. Also Don, he was a very kind gentleman, he told me about his time and experiences at school. Everybody was so kind and very welcoming! I felt really proud to be there and have that opportunity. Overall I had a great experience visiting Maryville. I give it a 10/10!
